Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in a warm climate country, near the sea and enjoy the beautiful views every single day, not only on holidays?
However even if you are the lucky ones, just living in the most beautiful setting does not guarantee you happiness. Even then you need a change from time to time. To shake things a bit. To connect with other people.
You can sometimes be in the most tranquil, breathtaking place yet feel restless after a while. I speak from my own experience spending a year in Spain by the pool.
Going on holidays, seeing new places, exploring different culture feels great if you are looking for new experiences, not an escape. You can’t outrun your own problems. Anywhere you go, they follow you.
So how about to reset your mind every single day without the need to change your environment? Make the most of what you have?
Would you like to start a new day with more energy, creativity and focus?
The secret is to create a series of small rituals. Similar to habits but more intentional, with focused approach.
There is a difference between exercise and exercise while you are mindful, giving the task the full attention. Without your mind rummaging through yesterday's conversations, past life hurdles or deadlines. You can have a quick shower to clean your body and a shower where you engage all your senses, smell, touch and pause for a moment to realise, how does it all make you feel…In other words, paying more attention to what you doing, realising when you are on autopilot.
Start small, focusing on things you already do, paying them more attention. And slowly add other things like journaling, meditation, breathing…the choice should be always in line with what works for you. If it does not energise you, it is not for you. If it feels like a chore, it is not for you. Maybe with the exception of drinking water first thing in the morning. The body after sleeping needs rehydrating, especially in hot weather we currently have. I do add a splash of lemon in mine, or ginger and lemon in winter for immunity boost.
What is the most energising thing for you first thing in the morning?
